From Chile to the United States, 9/11 and #UNFTR Unf*cking the Republic

Everything below was shamelessly copied and pasted exactly from UNFTR EPISODE SHOW NOTES. Subscribe, rate and support them.

Today’s episode is a departure from our normal format. We were tempted to let the 20th anniversary of 9/11 pass given it will be oversaturated with remembrances and armchair punditry as well as the usual tragedy porn imagery. But the impact of 9/11 remains so widespread that it’s impossible to ignore. So, we wanted to add something honest, critical and ultimately hopeful to the mix. This episode contains none of our typical irreverence or profanity, nor do we traffic in speculation or conspiracy. Rather, this is a story of a consequential date in history told in three parts and beginning nearly 50 years ago.

Letter to Senator Whitmire

Bill: SB 915 /Legislative Session: 87(R) Council Document: 87R 3775 BEE-F
Last Action: 03/11/2021 S Referred to Business & Commerce
Relating to the licensing and authority of advanced practice registered nurses.
Author: Hancock
Occupational Regulation–Health Occupations (I0540)

Senator Whitmire,

I made a short blog post on my small business site: that speaks to my concerns.
Briefly, as your constituent and as a Physician Assistant that would be directly affected by this legislation, I hope that you will be an advocate for logic and fairness. This legislation puts NPs on equal footing with MDs and DOs despite the fact that they have not been educated or trained in the medical model and have fewer clinical hours than PAs. They have written themselves out from under the supervisory relationship with physicians and into independent practice, like in other states, with no logical reason why. NPs do not deserve carte blanche independent practice, nor do PAs deserve to be placed in shackles that bind both us and our SPs (Supervising Physicians).

I urge you to reject SB 915.

Thank you.

What in the world do Nurse Practitioners (the NP Lobby) think they are trying to do?? READ this BILL

HB 2029 / SB 915

NPs really did yank themselves under the “oppressive yolk” [sarcasm] of our (more highly trained and qualified) MDs and DOs and put themselves on EXACTLY EQUAL FOOTING with their boot on PA’s necks. Um,…HELL NO!
